We are currently seeking an Intermediate Accountant for a 6-month renewable contract to handle the following responsibilities:
The Role
Reporting to the Regional Accounting Manager, you will be a key contributor to the North American finance operations. You will support the financial integrity of our US and Canadian entities by assisting with monthly closures, intercompany reconciliations, and statutory compliance. This role is perfect for a motivated accountant looking to gain deep experience in multi-currency consolidations and international FinTech operations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations: Assist in the monthly and annual closing processes for North American entities.
General Ledger: Perform rigorous analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to ensure data integrity.
Intercompany Support: Assist with complex intercompany reconciliations and cross-border transactions in coordination with the London team.
Tax & Compliance: Support the preparation of Sales Tax (US/Canada) and corporate tax filings, ensuring local statutory requirements are met.
Audit & Reporting: Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and provide necessary documentation for external auditors.
Payroll & Expenses: Partner with HR to ensure accurate payroll accounting and process employee expense reports.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; currently pursuing or recently completed a professional designation (CPA or equivalent).
Experience: 2–4 years of accounting experience, ideally with a background in a mid-tier accounting firm or an international corporate environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and experience navigating ERP systems.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills; you must be comfortable collaborating with remote teams across different time zones.
Mindset: A proactive, "can-do" attitude with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus: Proficiency in French is considered a strong asset for collaborating with our headquarters.
