Position summary
Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, the Sales Executive will be a key driver of smartTrade’s expansion across Latin America. Based in Mexico (Monterrey or Mexico City), you will be responsible for the entire sales lifecycle—from lead identification to closing—with a specific focus on foreign exchange (FX) trading and payments solutions for financial institutions. This role requires a high-performing professional capable of managing complex stakeholder environments, nurturing existing client relationships, and aggressively boosting new customer acquisition. As part of a market-leading global organization, you will collaborate with international teams to deliver sophisticated technical solutions that address the unique needs of the LATAM market.
Responsibilities:
Execute a comprehensive sales strategy to identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities across Latin America using the MEDDIC methodology.
Lead proactive business development activities, including cold calling, high-level networking, and participation in major industry trade shows.
Conduct in-depth market research to identify key targets, stakeholders, and emerging business trends within the LATAM financial sector.
Build and maintain long-lasting, trust-based relationships with C-level executives and key decision-makers in banks and financial institutions.
Deliver high-impact sales presentations and lead on-site workshops to demonstrate the technical and business value of smartTrade’s solutions.
Orchestrate the sales process by leveraging critical internal resources, including Pre-sales, Professional Services, Product Management, and R&D.
Manage complex contract negotiations and handle objections with a value-based selling approach to ensure successful closing.
Maintain a rigorous reporting cadence, providing weekly and monthly updates on pipeline health, sales volume, and progress against regional targets.
Anticipate customer requirements and proactively seek ways to add value, ensuring smartTrade remains the partner of choice in the region.
Coordinate and represent smartTrade at regional conferences and industry events to enhance brand visibility and lead generation.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
7-8 years of proven success in a software sales role (SaaS/FinTech), specifically selling to financial institutions.
Strong expertise in Foreign Exchange (FX) trading, payments, and front-office workflows.
Native Spanish speaker with full professional fluency in English; Portuguese would be a distinct advantage.
Mastery of sales methodologies, specifically MEDDIC or MEDDPICC, for managing complex, long-cycle enterprise deals.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and "active listening" skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
High level of resilience, autonomy, and a self-motivated "hunter" mindset.
Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas in the LATAM region.
Ability to travel frequently across Latin America (minimum 3 days every 2 weeks).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate market trends into actionable sales strategies.
