We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Network Operations Engineer to play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of our on-premises, low-latency trading infrastructure. As a key member of the Platform Product Business Group, you will be responsible for maintaining the stability, performance, and security of our mission-critical network systems that power FxSpotStream and other low-latency technologies. You will work closely with development teams to champion automation, observability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure network operational excellence: Take ownership of the day-to-day operations of our FxSpotStream and low-latency trading network systems, proactively identifying and mitigating potential network issues.
- Champion network reliability: Drive incident response, conduct thorough problem resolution, and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring network incidents.
- Automate and optimize network: Collaborate with development teams to automate network tasks, improve network efficiency, and enhance the scalability of our network infrastructure.
- Enhance network observability: Implement robust network monitoring and alerting systems to ensure proactive identification of network performance bottlenecks and potential issues.
- Document and knowledge share: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for network systems, processes, and network incident response procedures.
- Be the escalation point: Act as the escalation point for complex network technical issues, providing guidance and support to junior team members.
- Stay ahead of the curve: Continuously research and evaluate new networking technologies and industry best practices to improve network reliability and performance.
Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience in network administration, with deep expertise in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network environments.
- Hands-on experience with high-availability, low-latency network systems, ideally within the financial or trading industry.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash for network automation.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools like Chef, Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform as applied to network devices.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, multicast), network security best practices, and network hardware (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
- Experience with network performance tuning and optimization techniques.
Operational Excellence:
- Proven ability to manage network incidents effectively, including quick diagnosis, rapid resolution, and thorough post-mortem analysis.
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack), network alerting systems and network taps.
- Strong understanding of network performance tuning and optimization techniques.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A strong sense of ownership and a proactive, results-oriented approach.
Work Environment:
This is a hybrid position that offers a flexible schedule to accommodate the demands of our high-stakes environment (including occasional weekend visits to our datacenters hosted by Equinix in Seacaucus, New Jersey).
You’ll be a valued senior member of a multinational, multi-disciplinary team, and while based in the U.S., you'll also have the opportunity to travel to our global offices as well as our headquarters on the beautiful French Riviera. Here, you'll take the lead on network improvements and changes, making your mark on a highly complex, market-leading, low-latency trading infrastructure.
