Position summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Operations Engineer to join our Platform Product Business Group. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the high availability and optimal performance of our on-premises, low-latency trading infrastructure, which powers FxSpotStream and other critical technologies.
You will collaborate with a talented team of engineers to monitor systems, respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to automation efforts.

Role and Responsibilities
- Maintain system health: Proactively monitor the health and performance of our FxSpotStream and low-latency trading systems, identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact users.
- Incident response and troubleshooting: Respond to system alerts and incidents, perform thorough troubleshooting, and escalate complex problems to senior engineers when necessary.
- Drive automation: Contribute to the development and implementation of automation solutions to streamline operational tasks and improve system efficiency.
- Enhance documentation: Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for systems, processes, and incident response procedures.
- Collaborate effectively: Work closely with team members in other locations to ensure seamless operations and knowledge sharing.
- Continuous improvement: Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our systems and processes by identifying areas for optimization and implementing best practices.
Qualifications and skills
- Technical Expertise:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in system and network administration.
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools.
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls).
- Basic scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation tasks.
- Operational Skills:
- Experience with system monitoring tools and techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Understanding of incident management best practices.
