Position summary

As a Junior Operations Engineer on our Platforms Product Business Group, you'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and contribute to the success of our mission-critical, low-latency trading infrastructure. You will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies, develop valuable skills in system administration, and play a direct role in ensuring the smooth operation of our FxSpotStream platform.
Role and responsibilities
- Provide front-line support: Be the first point of contact for incoming support requests related to our FxSpotStream and low-latency trading systems.
- Assist with incident response: Work alongside senior engineers to resolve incidents, troubleshoot issues, and minimize system downtime.
- Execute operational tasks: Perform essential operational tasks, including system monitoring, log analysis, and basic system maintenance.
- Contribute to automation: Assist in the development and implementation of automation scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Continuous learning: Actively learn and develop skills in Linux/Unix system administration, networking, and low-latency technologies.
- Documentation: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of clear and concise documentation for systems and processes.
Qualifications and skills
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in IT support or system administration, demonstrating a basic understanding of IT infrastructure.
- Technical Skills:
- Foundational knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) is a plus.
