smartTrade is currently looking for a Senior Lead Ops Engineer for its headquarters in Aix-en-Provence.

Position summary:

The Senior Lead Ops Engineer is a key role within our Department IT environment responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our operations engineering team. This role requires a strong commitment to service excellence and expertise in on-prem infrastructure with low latency technologies. 

The Senior Lead Ops Engineer will be responsible for managing and guiding a team of technical professionals, ensuring that they meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets, and delivering high-quality support to our infrastructure environment.

Role and responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of operations engineers.

• Oversee day-to-day operations of FxSpotStream and Low Latency systems.

• Manage incident response, problem resolution, and root cause analysis.

• Collaborate with the development team on automation initiatives.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation.

• Act as the escalation point for complex issues.

• Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

• 7+ years of experience in system and network administration, with Linux/Unix expertise.

• Experience with high-availability systems, ideally in the financial or trading industry.

• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools (e.g., Chef, Ansible, Puppet).

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
